The ACURATA burr lock checker is a simple way to inspect the shank of milling cutters and grinding heads. If the shank of the burr is too thick compared to the standard, or if it is curved or misshapen, it cannot be slid into the tool. The tools we use are subject to the specifications of the standard ISO 1797, originally developed for dental drills. According to this standard, the diameter of the shank must be between 2.334 mm and 2.35 mm.
